Quadropod clusters

The Quadropus clusters are scattered among the different levels. It's random if you will encounter one on any given level. Their effects are temporary and wear off quick, but they are relatively common so they can make quite an improvement on your play though if used right.

Blue Quadropus Cluster: Doubles XP gained.
Yellow Quadropus Cluster: Gives bonus damage.
White Quadropus Cluster: Grants a 25% increase to running speed.
Green Quadropus Cluster: Creates bonus orbs from monster kills.
Purple Quadropus Cluster: Grants ability to steal health from enemies.
Orange Quadropus Cluster: Grants 15% increase critical hit chance.

The Quadropus Cluters are constantly changing colours, and what bonus you receive depends on the colour of the cluster when you walk over it. You can collect them right at the start of the level to get the most time from their bonus, but you may not be able to wait for the colour(and bonus) you would want the most. You could also wait until after the enemies are killed on the depth and try and time it to get the colour you want, but you will get less action with the bonus in effect this way since you will have to go down a depth to make use of the bonus.

Upgrades

When you first start playing Quadropus Rampage, your quadropus is quite frail. The upgrades page is where you (obviously) upgrade your Quadropus to become much stronger. There are 7 different types of upgrades, each affecting different stats of your quadropud, and each having 6 levels. The order in which you invest in upgrades is up to you and your playing style, but I would strongly suggest buying vitality and attack upgrades before any others.

The cost to upgrade per level is:

     Upgrade to level 2: ????
Upgrade to level 3: 1,200 orbs
Upgrade to level 4: 2,400 orbs
Upgrade to level 5: 4,800 orbs
Upgrade to level 6: 9.600 orbs

Buying the rampage upgrade will boost the duration and damage of your quadropus's rampage, as well as lower the decay of the rampage meter. I would recommend investing in the other upgrades before this one, as you won't be killing enough enemies early game to rampage very often anyway. As you get deeper though, this is a very useful upgrade to have!

Investing in the bubble upgrade will allow your bubble ability to last longer, and give it a shorter cool down between uses. This should probably be one of the first upgrades you purchase after maxing out attack and vitality.

This is one of the best upgrades to get early on. Buying into the attack upgrade will increase your damage, critical hit damage, and chance to land a critical hit.

By getting the agility upgrade, you will increase the run speed and dodge cooldown of your quadropus.   When to buy this ability depends on your play style. If you prefer to dodge and dance around enemies like a ninja, get this upgrade before bubble, but if you prefer to bubble and take hits like a tank, than get bubble before agility.

Bingo is your quadropus's beloved pet starfish. Upgrading bingo will improve his damage, knockback, and run speed. This upgrade is more of a luxury  as your quadropus is the one doing the real damage, not bingo. Once bingo is fully upgraded however, you will notice that he is quite the formidable fighter himself.

When you get the vitality upgrade, your quadropus becomes much more resilient. By investing in vitality you improve your quadropus's max HP, toughness, and how much heart fish heal you. I strongly suggest getting this early.

The smash upgrade will improve your quadropod's smash ability by lowering the abilities cooldown,  increasing it's damage, and increasing it's radius. It's a good ability and you should consider this upgrade once you have the more "urgent" upgrades maxed.

My suggested upgrade path:
     1. Vitality
     2. Attack
     3.Bubble
     4.Smash
     5.Agility
     6.Bingo
     7.Rampage

Going down a depth

Getting Deep

There's three main goals in Quadropus Rampage: killing angler fish and other deep sea critters, defeating Pete, and getting your quadropus as deep as he can possibly go.

You could of course just jump off the edge of any given depth to skip hard enemies. Keep in mind that while this will get you to a lower depth more quickly, there are some key disadvantages to this strategy:

     - You Receive damage when you fall off the edge as opposed to using one of the portals.
     - You miss out on all the experience from killing enemies.
     - You miss out on chests.
     - You miss the potential for good weapon drops.
     - You miss out on finding artifacts, those little hermit crab things, and quadropod clusters.

I prefer to finish every depth fully, but if anyone else has any other advantages to skipping a depth, feel free to post in the comments below.

What about those off-coloured portals?

You may have noticed that some depths have two portals to go to the next depth, and one is off-colour. When your quadropus is directed through these odd portals, the next depth is a bit different. The level itself is more colourful, and the enemies are a different colour as well. It might just be me, but I seem to get better loot on these kind of levels as well. It also seems as if you don't automatically get healed when going into a portal after this level, but I'll have to do some more testing to be sure.

Notable masteries with effects once you go down a depth

     - Veteran
     - Destroyer
     - Unbalanced

Notable artifacts with effects once you go down a depth

     - Aegis of the deep
     - Cinderblock
